David Tarcza. DAvid TArcza, DA TA. data.

Whether you call it dah-ta, or day-ta, I can help you learn more about it; what it's saying, what it means, and what to do about it. "It" is data, and I have an insatiable curiosity to know everything about "it".

Ultimately... I want to tell the truth of user experience. I want to be able to show what is valuable in a digital product's experience, and what is wasted time and effort. I want to package this information by telling stories with data to inspire action. I believe there is truth in data, and proof in performance.
My motivation and drive for enabling data-driven decision making is rooted in a desire for a better future for all. I want to help humanity reach a point where digital is a seamless integration. Predictive analytics and prescriptive algorithms will drive this integration, and as long as they are ethical, will make for an efficient and egalitarian future.

In my day-to-day job, I'm focused on leading the charge of digital business transformation, through applying information technology, and staying on the cutting edge of digital marketing and analytics.

How do I actually achieve this? One performance analytics dashboard at a time.

I take a user-centric approach to quantify the impact of marketing techniques, in order to determine the 20% of the effort that will generate the 80% of results.

In summary, I help people do the things that matter for their business, to help make time for the things that truly matter most. You're welcome!

02 PORTFOLIO
MY LATEST WORK. SEE MORE >
03 Experience
2014-2018
University of Maryland
Student - Athlete
I attended the University of Maryland: College Park, where I earned a double major in Information Systems & Marketing while taking on leadership roles in a variety of extracurriculars. Some unique academic programs I completed included a Sports Business fellowship and a Information Technology & Business Transformation fellowship.
2017
2U Inc.
Digital Marketing and Analytics Intern
I worked as an intern on the Demand Generation team for one of the pioneers in the online education space that brings elite college education to the consumer. At 2U, I learned a lot about advertising, multi-channel marketing, and full funnel analytics. It was great experience as an intern, I got to work a lot with Tableau, and the company was one of the largest advertisers in it's vertical for Facebook/LinkedIn.
2018 - 2019
Merkle Inc.
Search Engine Marketing Analyst
I worked for what was formerly the largest independent marketing agency in the U.S. and is today one of the market leaders in the digital advertising and analytics space.
My firm was highly acclaimed and won the Search Marketing Agency of the Year in the year during and before I worked there. During my time there, I received an excellent professional education in my time there and graduated from their Merkle Accelerator Program.
2019 - 2022
The Berndt Group
Digital Analytics Consultant
While at TBG, I was in a hybrid technical and strategic role at a web development agency. I worked within a user experience, digital strategy and information architecture team, which broadly encompasses elements of design, marketing, and technology consulting.
Within that team, I was on a sub-team that did analytics, personalization, and optimization work for the websites that the company created where I specialized in Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Data Studio.

After I left, TBG was acquired by ValTech on the basis of having deep expertise in US Healthcare and having a "robust data and personalization capability".
2022 - 2023
Phase2 Technology
Digital Analyst
I served on the Customer Data and Insights team within the Strategy department at a boutique digital agency focusing the Health and Wellness vertical.

This experience was a hybrid technical and strategic role at a web development agency working on analytics, personalization, and optimization work for the websites and digital platforms that the company creates.
More specifically, I was specializing in measurement models, personalization planning, and MarTech stack strategy for client’s digital marketing teams with a deeper bag of analytics tools.
2022 - 2022
Deloitte Digital
Insights and Analytics Consultant
Despite my desire to make a great marketing tagline for a UMD 30under30 submission about a transition"from the B1G to the Big 4", I realized I wasn't a good fit for short-term consulting projects. I made the decision to prioritize work-life balance so that I can engage in the exploits that are shown on this site.

During my time at Deloitte, I learned a lot about how large consultancies operate, and I realized that the path forward in Analytics and Personalization is much more amorphous and individualistic than expected.
2024 - 2025
Nestle USA
Senior Analyst, Digital Marketing Analytics
I've branched into a role that is wider in scope and responsibilities. It's been fascinating to learn and regularly apply my skills to new data sources in social media, email, social listening, sales data, and more!

I've learned a lot about how large in-house organizations operate, and working with over 20 of the largest brands in Food and Beverage in much more like my prior agency experience than I expected.
I have been able to apply my prior work experiences and make an impact for brand marketers with accurate reporting, evolving performance the of digital channels, and pioneering new A.I. tools.
